Barcelona’s first five opponents revealed

After ending an extraordinary 2015/2016 season as La Liga cup holders and Copa Del Rey winners, the champions will begin their season against Real Betis at the Camp Nou on Sunday, August 21st.

The Catalan giants managed to net 6 goals against Real Betis after clashing twice during the 2015/2016 season. Claudio Bravo, 2016 Copa America winner, was only challenged to 5 shots from Betis in these two games, where he denied any from finding the back of the net.

With a heavily skilled team eager for more championships, Barcelona will open the season with great confidence and will be focused on nothing but victory.

The upcoming season will also bring new players to the Camp Nou Stadium. After Dani Alves departed from the four time Champions League winners to join Juventus, coach Luis Enrique was set on bringing additional players to the defensive side of the squad.

With the €25m signing of French international and former Olympique Lyon defender Samuel Umtiti joining the team, Barcelona fans look forward to having this young, gifted center back help defend their title and bring the club additional championships.

Enrique also managed to sign left-back Lucas Digne from Paris Saint-Germain for €16.5m after he was out on loan with Roma for the 2015/2016 season. The Frenchman will have to show his worth if he has any hopes of being chosen over first pick left-back, Jordi Alba.

Soccer enthusiasts world wide are surely impatient to see their teams fight for victory in the soon to come season, but surely all are thrilled for the magic Barcelona’s football club are known of producing on the pitch.
