Report: Manchester United to finalize two signings next week

Mkhitaryan

Manchester United are closing in on the signings of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to The Guardian.

The report suggests United are confident of concluding the deals next week, with both players keen to join the English giants this summer.

Even though Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke reiterated the club’s intention to keep Mkhitaryan at the club last week, the Germans are now believed to be open to a sale at the right price.

Manchester United are thought to be ready to pay £30m for the 27-year-old attacker, which would probably be enough to secure his signature.

It appears as though United are also close to securing the services of another Mino Raiola client – Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The 34-year-old striker, who announced his retirement from international football after Sweden’s Euro 2016 elimination on Wednesday, is said to have already agreed a one-year contract worth £220,000-a-week with United and is expected to sign his contract when he meets with Jose Mourinho next week.

If United manage to acquire both Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan this summer, it’d be a major statement of intent from the club.

United were heavily criticized for their lack of creativity and fire-power last season and it appears as though Mourinho is doing everything possible to address the issue in this transfer window.
