Barcelona is known for having one of the most deadly attacking squads with strikers such as Luis Suarez, Neymar Jr., and Lionel Messi. Without a doubt, the club has a keen eye when it comes to signing top class players to Camp Nou.

According to Daily Mail (via Mundo Deportivo), the 2016 La Liga and Copa Del Rey title holders are interested in bringing Frenchman Kevin Gameiro as a reinforcement to their already firm attacking trio.

After leaving League 1’s Paris Saint-Germain in 2013 to join Sevilla, it didn’t take much time for Gameiro to make his mark in La Liga. After spending three seasons with his current team, the Frenchman has netted a noteworthy 67 goals and supplied his teammates with 16 assists in a matter of 140 games.

With stats like this, it is no shock that the La Liga giants will have to pay a substantial £32m just to break the release clause from Sevilla for a transfer to Barcelona.

A player with the abilities that the French winger possesses would definitely boost the already solid striking side of the Barcelona squad. If Gameiro were to sign to the team, he would fit the slots that are already filled by Suarez and Messi.

It is unlikely that coach Luis Enrique would choose Gameiro over the two record breaking strikers in the starting XI, yet it is possible for the Frenchman to find playing time on the pitch if Enrique is to sub off either of the two breathtaking forwards.

However, further discussion over the signing of Gameiro to Barcelona is to be postponed until an assurance on Neymar Jr’s future is settled. With recent links of the Brazilian star possibly moving to Manchester City, Manchester United, and most recent of all, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona’s primary goal is to renew a contract with the superb left wing.
