Manchester United youngster James Wilson is likely to spend next season away from Old Trafford on loan, according to The Sun.
The report claims Wilson will hold talks with Jose Mourinho over his future next week and the Portuguese manager is expected to tell the 20-year-old striker he must spend the 2016/17 season on loan in order to get valuable game time and continue his development.
West Midlands rivals Birmingham City and Aston Villa are believed to be interested in signing the United academy graduate this summer.
Wilson, who scored a brace in his first start for Manchester United’s senior team in their 3-1 home win over Hull City 2 years ago, spent the majority of last season on loan at Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion, scoring 5 goals in 27 appearances for the Seagulls.
Another loan spell away from Manchester United would be good for Wilson’s development as he can’t realistically hope to establish himself in United’s first team next season.
Marcus Rashford’s sensational rise in the past few months and the expected arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic mean Wilson should spend some more time away from Old Trafford in search of regular first-team football.
