The Mexican team demonstrated in their first match against Uruguay why they are they national side with the current longest undefeated streak (20 games) in the world. In their 3-1 win, ‘el tri’ used confusing yet efficient formations and lineup which allowed them to dominate most of the game. At the same time, the team coached by Juan Carlos Osorio showed great ball possession, confidence, and goal scoring efficiency; all allowing Mexico to become a strong title contender.

Against Jamaica, Mexico is expected to rotate their starting lineup, and possibly use a different formation. Coach Osorio has quickly been known to use different systems game-by-game as under him Mexico has used different lineups in all his games. Nonetheless, Mexico enters the match as a huge favorite to win considering that they will play in front of a pro-Mexico sold-out stadium where they have never lost, and because on paper they have a much more talented squad that their Thursday rivals.

With a win, Mexico will have earned 6 points which is enough to reach the next round. Meanwhile, Jamaica lost thir first match against Venezuela, and therefore are urged to earn at least 1 point against ‘el tri’ in order to have any possibly to reach the quarterfinals.
