Sandro Ramirez, the 20-year-old striker from Barcelona’s youth setup, is available to leave this summer after the club did not pick up the option on his contract. Marca reported that Barcelona’s technical director, Robert Fernandez, stated on Barca TV that the striker is free to leave Barca next season.

Ramirez made his debut for Barcelona last season, getting a decent run of games with Luis Suarez serving his initial suspension. He even tallied a goal in Barcelona’s victorious Champions League campaign in the group stages against Ajax.

He got games at the start of this season as well, but since the turn of the new year his playing time has been small.

He has not played in La Liga since Barca’s 2-2 draw to Deportivo La Coruna in December, and has only played in three matches since, one being the FIFA Club World Cup semifinal and two games in the Copa Del Rey against Athletic Bilbao and Valencia.

According to Whoscored, Ramirez has only played 92 minutes for Barca in the year 2016.

Fernandez said that Sandro has been a loyal servant to the club, and paid him homage for staying despite having “a lot of offers to leave the club last summer”

Rumors have stated that his boyhood club U.D. Las Palmas was an option for him to return to. But their technical director said that due to competition with clubs from the Premier League, they would be unable to pay the wages he would command.
