International Goalkeeper open to Manchester United move – Replacement for De Gea?

Zieler

German international Ron-Robert Zieler has admitted that he would be open to a move back to Manchester United, as quoted by the Daily Express.

It has emerged recently that star goalkeeper David De Gea will look to leave Manchester United during the summer if Louis van Gaal continues as manager at Old Trafford.

The reports have certainly worried the United faithful and one can be sure that La Liga giants Real Madrid will be looking to reignite their interest for the Spanish international.

Zieler wants Manchester United move

It will be interesting to see whether or not United will be able to keep hold of De Gea this time around but ideally they will need a replacement lined up if indeed the 25-year-old decides to leave this summer.

A host of names have been mentioned as targets for United over the past few weeks and now German international Ron-Robert Zieler has put himself in the hat for a potential move to Old Trafford.

Zieler is currently plying his trade for Hannover 96 and with the German international approaching the final year of his contract at the club, it is widely expected that he will be leaving the relegated Bundesliga outfit within the next few months.

A move to the Premier League has been seen as a possibility for Zieler and the 27-year-old has now expressed his desire to make a move to United.

As quoted by the Daily Express, the custodian said, “The time at United helped me a lot in my development, personally and as a football player. Today I can say for sure: I would always decide to go there again. Nothing has been decided yet [on his future]. There are several offers. I will listen to all of them and then decide.

“It’s a very important decision in my career. So I think to decide too early would be fatal. I am not in a hurry at all. It’s no secret that Germany, England, Italy and Spain are the four biggest leagues. It’s my goal to play in either one of these from next season onwards.”

Zieler spent a two year spell between 2008 and 2010 at Old Trafford and the goalkeeper could well prove to be a good replacement if De Gea leaves.
