Hiddink calls out 3 Academy Players for Impressive Performances with First Team

Chelsea Academy players have enjoyed a lot of minutes since Hiddink took over mid-season. Players like Bertrand Traore and Ruben Loftus-Cheek haven’t failed to impress in the opportunities which they have been provided. One of the players who also has caught the eyes of Guus Hiddink is Tammy Abraham.

Tammy Abraham has pleased the Dutchman with his ability to adapt quickly. He is a fast learner, claims Hiddink. Blues’ interim boss has appreciated the work of the Academy for producing quality youth players.

Hiddink insists that giving youth players the experience to play against top flight footballers is necessary as it helps them to understand the intensity of the game.

Hiddink believes that first team experience is important for the players, but they should not be pushed too far because overloading can stop their growth and can lead to negative results.

Hiddink has been successful in his experiment of giving academy players their minutes with the first team. Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Bertrand Traore have been extremely impressive in making most of the opportunities provided to them.
