Louis Van Gaal admitted that loss to West Ham United is a mental blow for him and the team. Everything was in Manchester United’s favour for securing a Champions League spot, but now they are again dependent on Manchester City.

Van Gaal felt disappointed after losing from a winning position and conceding from set-plays.

“Every defeat is disappointing. Tonight is a mental blow but against Bournemouth we have to give everything so we don’t give Manchester City a free trip to into the Champions League,” said the Dutchman.

Everything now comes to the last match day for Manchester United, who again rely on Manchester City in their bid to gain a top-four spot.

However, Van Gaal has made it clear that they will put in every bit of their effort for the game against Bournemouth in order not to let Manchester City qualify easily to the UEFA Champions League.

Not making most of the opportunities might as well prove to be a big blow for Louis Van Gaal and his men. Last weekend’s 2-2 draw between Manchester City and Arsenal handed United a huge boost ahead of final 2 games.

But United’s loss to Hammers has turned the odds in City’s favour. Not only shall The Red Devils win their last game, but also hope for Manchester City to lose theirs.
