Or is it Mike? Wait no; it definitely is Chris, right?
Long gone are the days of the inconsistent, injury prone Smalling, and let’s open arms and welcome the brick wall of United’s defence. Since his red card versus Manchester City last season, he became a leader in his return without putting a foot wrong.
His commanding presence has been consistent throughout this season and we’ve come to a realisation that this man could header out an atomic bomb. Rarely losing out in one-on-ones even against top players is a sign of him stamping his authority all over the league, literally.
Not putting an arm, leg or foot wrong, he has easily made this list, as well as becoming one of the best defenders in the league and country. The name’s Smalling, Christopher Lloyd Smalling. Exceptional!
