Speaking to the club website, Cesc Fabregas talked about the derby clash and the reason why they are where they are now in the league. “We can play so many more times like we did in the second half but we did not have the consistency this year which is why we are where we are,” said the Spaniard.
According to Fabregas, the match against Tottenham was a clear display of the Blues’ form this season. He pointed at the poor first half performance which let Spurs score 2 past them and by half-time the game was in their control. But the second half was a wake-up call for Chelsea, as they equalized 2-2 in the second half and caught Spurs off-guard.
Fabregas admitted they lacked consistency, which turned out to be the reason of Chelsea’s fall in the Premier League this season.
This season is already done and dusted for Chelsea. Next season, The Blues will see the arrival of new coach Antonio Conte and the fans really hope to see a completely new team under the Italian.
