Wayne Rooney reveals disappointment over Leicester City Result

Wayne Rooney told MUTV that the team felt disappointed after a draw against Leicester City. “I felt we were the better team. We knew Leicester would try and make it tough for us, but I thought we played some good stuff today,” said Rooney.

The match started brightly for Louis Van Gaal’s men, as Anthony Martial opened the scoring after a good play from Antonio Valencia before he flicked the ball across the penalty spot and Martial hit the ball first-time and Kasper Schmeichel was beaten on the near post.

“We played with high tempo and moved the ball quick and it was just a matter of getting that second goal today,” added Rooney, as Leicester made it difficult for them to score even with a man down.

However, the second half was dull from both the sides, as Leicester looked to salvage a point rather than go for three and Manchester United tried hard to get the win and close the gap on city rivals Manchester City. For Leicester City, the Premier League title is bound to come sooner or later, but Manchester United depend heavily on results of rivals for securing a top-four spot.
