When asked about his Spurs teammate and compatriot Mousa Dembélé, Toby Alderweireld had this to say according to TottenhamHotspur.com:
“He’s one of the best midfielders in the world and that’s it, really. I can’t say anything else.”
The powerful Dembélé often gets noticed for his ability to take on defenders. His dribbling skills, though, can also put him in harms way, with would-be tacklers forced to be physical to have any hopes of dispossessing him.
“He’s injury free and that’s important for the way he plays. He takes a lot of knocks! People want to be physical with him and it can be difficult but he’s managed that so impressively,” Alderweireld points out.
“His strength on the ball is incredible, his technique is amazing – put that together and you have Mousa Dembélé.”
Dembélé’s dribbling has indeed turned heads, but it is also his tidy passing game that has made him such a revelation this season.
