Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal, firmly believes that Leicester City will have to wait one more week to raise the Premier League title.
Leicester City has had a story book season so far. They can raise the title with a win at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Manchester United need a win in order to have a chance to finish fourth in the league and secure a place in the Champions League.
“I think we have to beat Leicester because we are still in the race for the first positions, so we have to beat them,” Van Gaal said. “We cannot allow that they are the champions this weekend at Old Trafford. I think they shall be the champion a week later, so we don’t spoil the party, just postpone it a little bit.”
Van Gaal needs his team to win all of their remaining league matches as he is fighting to maintain his job for next season. Anything less than an FA Cup victory and a top 4 spot in the EPL would seriously jeopardize his position at Manchester United.
Van Gaal’s confidence in his side could help spur Manchester United to victory and postpone Leicester City’s party.
