Tottenham’s Strongest Possible Lineup vs Stoke City: 4-2-3-1 with few changes

Tottenham Hotspur continue their chase for the Premier League title on Monday when they face off against Stoke City at The Brittania Stadium.

Tottenham are currently in second place while Stoke sit in ninth. Right now it seems almost impossible for Tottenham to catch current league leaders Leicester City who are seven points ahead, 10 if they win on Sunday. If Tottenham want to catch Leicester they’ll have to win every remaining match. They can’t afford to drop points.

Clinton N’Jie is close to returning the club after having knee surgery while Nabil Bentaleb is still out after he had knee surgery also.

With that being said Tottenham Manager Mauricio Pochettino will be sending out the exact squad he sent out against Manchester United last week. Here’s how I think Tottenham will be lining up.

Goalie

Hugo Lloris is coming off a clean sheet against Manchester United and will be in net against Stoke on Monday.

Defence

Nothing’s going to change as Kyle Walker will start at right back while Danny Rose will start at left back. Both of those two will have quite a challenge ahead of them going up against Stoke’s talented wingers Marko Arnautovic and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen will be the centre-backs. Vertonghen looked good against Manchester United which is good news as the centre-back is coming back from a knee injury.

Midfield

Eric Dier will sit right above Vertonghen and Alderweireld as the holding midfielder. Mousa Dembélé, who had a great outing against United, will be above Dier in the pivot. Christian Eriksen will play above them as the centre-attacking midfielder.

Erik Lamela, who has been in fantastic form since the United match will be on the right while Dele Alli will be on the left. Stoke are a team that are tough to break down defensively so they’ll all have to be at their best to break down that backline.

Striker

Harry Kane will be the starting striker for Tottenham. The leading goal scorer will look to add to his tally on Monday.

Tottenham have been in great form recently and I think they could be too much for Stoke to handle. A draw however is a very real possibility, but Tottenham know if they want to win the league title any other result but a win is a disappointment. They’ll do everything in their power to win this match.

Whats your strongest possible lineup and what do you think the result will be?
