Tottenham’s star in the 3-0 win vs Manchester United

Tottenham Hotspur had a massive win Sunday over Manchester United beating the Red Devils at White Hart Lane 3-0.

The match started late due to United arriving late due to traffic. Because of the late start Tottenham knew that Leicester City had beaten Sunderland and taken a 10 point lead in the title race.

It was a must win if they wanted to keep pace with the league leaders and Tottenham did just that. Dele Alli opened up the scoring in the 70 minute and then things escalated quickly from there.

Toby Alderweireld got on the end of a header in the 74th minute to put Spurs up 2-0, and Erik Lamela put the nail in the coffin two minutes later scoring to put Tottenham up 3-0.

Besides scoring a goal and providing an assist, Lamela’s defensive work-rate was fantastic today. He was all over the pitch and that’s one of the reason he’s the man of the match for Tottenham.

Yes he missed a header early in the match that he should of put away, but the Argentine looked fantastic coming back from an injury he sustained while away on international duty.

To dive deeper into Lamela’s man of the match performance today, according to Spurs Stats Man on Twitter, 3 attempts at goal, 2 chances created, 9 tackles won, 2 interceptions, 1 assist, and 1 goal.

Tottenham’s next match is April 18th against Stoke City.
