Matt Miazga, the 20-year-old U.S. international, was one of several youngsters who earned a spot in Chelsea’s first-team at Villa Park. Miazga spoke to ASN’s Brian Sciaretta about learning from football icons like John Terry, and his desire to play at the highest level.

The former New York Red Bulls player was one of the best defenders at the 2015 U-20 World Cup, where he caught the eye of many. Miazga arrived at Stamford Bridge in the 2016 January transfer window.

“I am getting better as a Player”, says the youngster who put up an amazing performance against Aston Villa in his debut game.  His stats were impressive for the game with 6 clearances, 4 aerial duels won, 3 tackles won, 3 blocks and 1 interception.

Though with the arrival of Conte, it’s not certain whether Miazga will be a part of his plans or he will just be added to the number of 30 Chelsea players who are out on loan. With the season coming to an end, Guus Hiddink has made it clear with his selections that he will give young players the chance to prove themselves before the arrival of Conte.
