Chelsea continued their late push for a Europa League finish with a 4-0 victory over Aston Villa last weekend and the Blues most certainly look capable of ending the campaign on a high following a very difficult period.
Most Chelsea fans are already looking forward to next season but manager Guus Hiddink wants to depart on a positive note and he will be pushing his players to give the fans something the cheer about during the final seven games of the campaign.
Up next for Chelsea is an encounter against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium and although a tricky encounter, the Blues are expected to claim another three points on the day.
Goalkeeper
Thibaut Courtois had very little to do during the clash against Aston Villa but one can be sure that he will be a lot busier against Swansea City this weekend, who boast a significantly stronger attacking lineup in comparison to the Premier League basement side.
Defence
Hiddink allowed the likes of Matt Miazga and Abdul Baba Rahman to start in the clash against Aston Villa and despite the young duo’s encouraging performance, the Dutchman will most likely revert back to his more experienced players this weekend.
Therefore, Gary Cahill and John Terry should in all likelihood make a return back to the starting lineup if the two defenders are passed fit, while the full back positions is likely to be occupied by Branislav Ivanovic and Cesar Azpilicueta.
Midfield
Cesc Fabregas and John Obi Mikel have been the first choice midfield pairing for Hiddink and the two experienced campaigners are expected to continue in the starting lineup against Swansea as well.
Pedro grabbed a brace last weekend and while the Spaniard is certain to start, many will be looking forward to how the exciting combination of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Kenedy will perform during the game.
The likes of Oscar and Nemanja Matic will be hopeful of starts as well while Eden Hazard remains a doubt due to injury.
Attack
Diego Costa remains unavailable owing to suspension and Loic Remy is out injured, paving the way for Alexandre Pato to make his first ever start for Chelsea.
Pato managed to find the back of the net in the victory over Villa on his debut and the Brazilian star will surely be keen on making an impression this weekend as well.
