Even though the Reds seemed favorite to sign the Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter-Stegen, the Guardian is reporting that Manchester City are ready to finalize the deal for the 23-year-old with FC Barcelona. The German Shot-stopper will cost the Citizens in the region of 20-Million-Pounds according to various reports.
Ter Stegen moved to the Camp Nou in the summer of 2014 to replace the outgoing Victor Valdes. However, while he has been a stalwart for the Catalan side in the Champions League, Claudio Bravo is the first choice goalkeeper for Luis Enrique in La Liga.
Thus, while he has made a respectable 41-appearances for Barcelona in his 2-seasons at the club, only 4 of those have come in La Liga. This has infuriated the former Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper who feels he has done enough to earn a place in the Starting XI of Barcelona in all competitions.
As indicated earlier, Liverpool seemed favorites to acquire the German not so long ago. However, with Pep Guardiola moving to the Etihad in the summer, the Spanish Manager will look to lure TerStegen from his former employers.
