Manchester United leading the race to sign 21-year old Spaniard for £31million

Manchester United are in a firm position to land the 21-year old Arsenal target, Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, as suggested by the Spanish publication AS.

The Red Devils are looking to outbid Arsenal for the Spanish U21 International who is still under contract commitments to Atletico Madrid until 2020, for around a transfer fee of £31million.

Saul has become one of the most important players of Simeone’s side, providing strength in midfield and chasing the ball right back to the defence, this young player is very versatile in his approach. Saul is known for his qualities to read the game and adjust mentally. Also, Saul has shown maturity in his game which makes him the right fit for Manchester United’s midfield.

Though Saul’s agent stated that there is no way his client will be leaving the club this summer, there have been speculations in the Spanish press that the player is unhappy with the Atletico Madrid contract and have decided to move on.

Manchester United are in a firm position, financially, to see out the buy-out clause of the ace mid-fielder. The move is likely to happen this summer as Michael Carrick has not been offered contract extension until now, which possibly means his departure, making a place for Saul in the squad.
