Barcelona Strongest Possible Lineup vs Sporting Gijon: 4-3-3 with Rakitic to return

Barcelona’s stunning form continued as they claimed a comfortable 6-1 victory over Celta Vigo at the Nou Camp during the weekend and such a dominant performance against a solid team has left the fans purring.

It seems virtually impossible to stop Barcelona at the moment but even Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are showing no signs of letting up and manager Luis Enrique will surely demand his players to continue on their fine run with another victory during the midweek clash against Sporting Gijon at the Estadio Municipal El Molinón.

Here is the Strongest Possible Barcelona Lineup against Sporting Gijon –

Goalkeeper

Claudio Bravo was unable to keep a clean sheet against Celta after conceding through a penalty and the Chilean star would have probably been a bit disappointed at not being able to do so.

Now Barcelona prepare to square off against a struggling Sporting Gijon side in midweek and Bravo will be quietly confident of keeping a clean sheet this time around.

Defence

The quartet of Jordi Alba, Javier Mascherano, Gerard Pique and Dani Alves is undoubtedly the first choice defensive lineup for Luis Enrique and he will surely see no reason to change things around this weekend as there are no fresh injury concerns.

Midfield

Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and Sergi Roberto started the game against Celta Vigo while Ivan Rakitic came off the bench to find the back of the net late on.

Given the lack of recovery time in between games for the next few weeks, Enrique is expected to change things around and it would not be a surprise to see Rakitic being handed a start in place of the veteran Iniesta on Wednesday.

Young Sergi Roberto can most certainly fulfill the demands of playing two games in four days while Sergio Busquets is also expected to be starting on the night.

Attack

Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar continued their terrifying run of form with the trio grabbing five of the six goals which Barcelona scored against Celta.

They are simply unstoppable at the moment and one can be sure that the Sporting Gijon defenders will be trembling at the prospect of going up against the three stars on Wednesday night.
