Premier League side Chelsea are plotting a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Thiago Silva as replacement for John Terry, according to reports from TuttoMercatoWeb
John Terry dropped a bombshell last month by revealing that he will be ending his lifelong association with Chelsea at the end of the current campaign and despite the defender’s advancing years, he will undoubtedly be very difficult to replace for the Blues.
Nonetheless, Chelsea do have adequate finances to be able to purchase a new world class replacement for Terry next season and a host of names have already started being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the past few weeks.
Silva wanted by Chelsea
Now according to reports from TuttoMercatoWeb, it can be revealed that Chelsea have identified Paris Saint-Germain star Thiago Silva as the ideal man to fill in the void that will be left by the departure of Terry.
Silva has arguably been one of the best defenders in the world over the past few years and he has been linked with a big money move to Chelsea on more than one occasion in recent times.
Now with Terry confirming his intention of wanting to leave, Chelsea are set to ramp up their pursuit of Silva at the end of the season and the Blues are hopeful of luring the Brazilian international to Stamford Bridge by offering a large financial wage package.
