Manchester United in talks to sign African striker on deadline day

Manchester United have begun negotiations over the signing of Watford striker Odion Ighalo, according to reports from Bleacher Report (as cited by the Metro)

Despite being linked with a host of players incessantly upon the reopening of the January transfer window, Manchester United have not yet signed a single player this month and it is a real possibility that the Red Devils do not conduct any business before the window slams shut in a couple of days’ time.

Nonetheless, United continue being linked with a number of late transfers and now according to reports from the Bleacher Reports (as cited by the Metro), it has been claimed that the Premier League giants are ready to make a swoop for Watford star Odion Ighalo.

Ighalo heading to United?

Ighalo has been one of the most prolific strikers in the Premier League this season, scoring 14 goals in 23 league appearances and his form has been one of the main reasons behind Watford’s brilliant campaign so far.

As a result of his performances, Ighalo has caught the attention of a host of clubs and it has now been claimed that United have ramped up their pursuit to sign the Nigerian international by entering negotiations with Watford for a potential transfer deadline day deal.
