After Pato signing, Chelsea agree another striker deal

Chelsea have agreed to sell Loic Remy for £11.5million to Leicester City after securing the services of Alexandre Pato, according to talkSPORT journalist Ben Jacobs (as cited by the Daily Star)

Chelsea have managed to strengthen their attacking lineup after securing the services of Alexandre Pato from Corinthians on a loan deal till the end of the season and although the transfer is a bit of a risky one due to the Brazilian’s injury proneness, the former Milan star could be a great signing for the Blues.

The arrival of Pato has certainly excited the Chelsea faithful but one man who would not have been too pleased is Loic Remy.

Remy heading to Leicester City

Remy struggled for regular minutes on the pitch for Chelsea even before the arrival of Pato and the French international has now been pushed further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

As a result, Remy had been widely tipped to leave Chelsea before the January transfer window slams shut in a couple of days’ time and a host of Premier League clubs have been interested in signing the 29-year old.

A move back to Newcastle had been seen on the cards for Remy but Leicester City have recently emerged as frontrunners to secure the services of the striker.

Now according to talkSPORT journalist, Ben Jacobs, it has been claimed that Chelsea have already gone on to agree a fee of around £11.5million with Leicester City over the transfer of Remy.

While Remy is most certainly a very good player, he simply did not receive enough opportunities at Stamford Bridge and the prospective transfer seems like a win-win for all parties involved.
