Tottenham bid for £7million-rated 25-year old attacker

Tottenham have added another name into their “pot of potential strikers,” as their quest for another striker to take the load off of Harry Kane’s shoulders continues. This time it’s Toulouse’s striker Wissam Ben Yedder, according to France Football.

Many Spurs fans maybe wondering who Ben Yedder is exactly. The 25-year-old Frenchman is uncapped, however he has seven goals and three assists this season in the Ligue 1. Spurs’ manager Mauricio Pochettino could see him as a potential backup for Kane.

Reports from Get French Football News suggests that Ben Yidder wants to leave the club this month.

Earlier this week Pochettino said that Spurs will only do business if the price is right for them. However January continues to dwindle and Spurs have yet to sign anyone but former Ebbsfleet United player Shilow Tracey — who seems along way away from cracking into the first team.

Spurs have seen their £6.1 million bid for Ben Yedder rejected as Toulouse apparently want around £7.6 million for him. Now it’s up to Pochettino and Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy to determine if he’s worth the extra money. If they truly are keen on signing another striker, Levy should have no problem digging into his pockets for some extra cash. Currently Ben Yedder is one of cheaper names Spurs have been linked to.

Spurs have relied heavily on Harry Kane this campaign and the Englishman is a huge reason why they’re currently sitting in fourth place in the Barclays Premier League. An injury to Kane would seriously damage Spurs and would probably spoil their chances of Champions League football.

Ben Yedder can play either as the lone striker up top or as a second forward. He’s proved himself in Ligue 1, netting 56 goals in five seasons.
