Chelsea are set to revive their interest in signing Valencia defender Aymen Abdennour, according to reports from French publication Foot Mercato (as cited by Squawka)
While John Terry proved to be the hero for Chelsea during their 3-3 draw against Everton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, it is clear to see that the Blues need to bring in a long term replacement for their 35-year old stalwart sooner rather than later.
Chelsea revive interest in Abdennour
Recently, it had been reported that Chelsea had already begun their search for a replacement for Terry by eyeing up a move for Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann. Now another player has emerged as the candidate to replace Terry at Stamford Bridge in the form of Valencia star Aymen Abdennour.
Chelsea were keen on signing Abdennour during the summer but the defender left Monaco to join Valencia instead in a big money deal.
Despite missing out on Abdennour, Chelsea are said to have been closely monitoring the 26-year old over the past few months and according to reports from Foot Mercato, the Blues are ready to revive their interest by placing a bid this month.

Abdennour has not enjoyed the best of times since joining Valencia and was omitted from the starting lineup which featured in the 2-2 draw against Rayo Vallecano over the weekend by manager Gary Neville.
As a result, Chelsea have been given a huge encouragement to pursue Abdennour and they most certainly stand a good chance of signing the Tunisian international for the right price.
