With £29million favourite likely to exit, Manchester United eye £30million-rated replacement

Manchester United are eyeing a move for Sporting Braga midfielder Rafa Silva amid reports that Ander Herrera wants to leave Old Trafford

As the transfer window is fast approaching, it has been no surprise to see an incessant number of players being linked with a move to Manchester United.

To break the trend though, there has also been talk of a player departing as midfielder Ander Herrera is said to be keen on an exit due to the lack of playing time that has come his way this season – according to reports from the Daily Star.

Herrera set for United exit?

The Daily Star source had stated, “Ander is worried about his lack of progress at Manchester United under Louis van Gaal. He feels like he’s lost his identity as a player and doesn’t know what his role is anymore.

“His situation appears to be getting worse and he’s worried his career is going backwards, so there will have to be a chat with the manager.”

It remains to be seen whether the reports have any credibility but no sooner had talks of Herrera departing Old Trafford emerged, Manchester United have already been linked with a potential replacement for the Spaniard.

Silva has been lined up as Herrera’s potential replacement

If reports from Portuguese outlet A Bola are to be believed, United are planning a swoop for Sporting Braga midfielder Rafa Silva.

A Bola confirmed that United scouts were in attendance to watch Braga square off against Liberec recently and with Herrera now keen on an exit from Old Trafford, manager Louis van Gaal has identified the Portuguese youngster as a viable replacement.
