Strongest Possible Mexico Line-Up vs USA: Hernandez leading the line?

As World Cup Qualifiers approach, two nations will have to dispute the ticket to the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia. These two countries are Mexico, who won the CONCACAF Gold Cup over the summer, and the United States, who were champions in 2013. The game will take place at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, where Mexico were once before crowned champions of the CONCACAF region in 2011.

Mexico will surely hope to repeat their victory over fierce rivals USA to obtain the ticket to the Confederations Cup.

To achieve that, both teams will likely be using their best players. This is Mexico’s possible line-up:

Goalkeeper

At the goalkeeper position will most likely be Moises Munoz. He has been doing well for his team Club America in the LigaMX, and will surely be favored over Talavera and Orozco. In addition, he also had a good game against Argentina, with the exception of the a few mistakes he made that caused the Argentines to score a goal.

Defense

Like the game against Argentina, Ricardo ‘El Tuca’ Ferreti will probably use a five man defense line. This is an important game, and he will want to prevent the rivals from getting too close to the Mexican net.

Acting as a right back would be Paul Aguilar. He has been an undoubted part of Mexico’s starting eleven for almost two years and Aguilar has earned his place.

The three center backs would be Diego Reyes, Hector Moreno, and Rafael Marquez. Though Marquez has recently been recovering from an injury, his experience on the pitch could be vital for Mexico.

At the left back position would be Jorge Torres Nilo. Since Ferreti has taken over the Mexican National Team (for a limited time), Torres Nilo has been one of the new additions to the team. This is due to the fact that Ferreti knows him, and surely likes the way Torres Nilo defends on the pitch.

Midfield

In the right midfield would be Hector Herrera. Though Herrera has not been performing at his best with FC Porto, Tuca Ferreti may place him in the starting eleven since Herrera did well at Mexico’s previous game against Argentina.

The man at center midfield would most likely be Andres Guardado. He has been an undoubted player in the starting eleven, and has been working hard to recover from an injury that threatened to keep him out of the game.

At the left midfield position would be Jonathan dos Santos,

Attack

The right forward in this line-up would most likely be Raul Jimenez. Both Peralta and Vela have not been doing so well at their clubs. Jimenez will likely be given an opportunity to prove that he can be an important man in Mexico’s attack.

Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez would be the other man in Mexico’s attack, taking over the left forward position. Since the twenty seven year old joined Bayer Leverkusen of the German Bundesliga, Hernandez has renewed confidence.

This confidence will serve him well when Mexico faces the United States as El Tri hope to be the ones to represent CONCACAF in the FIFA Confederations Cup of 2017.
