Hector Moreno is trying to make amends after the terrible injury he inflicted on Luke Shaw during Tuesday’s PSV vs Manchester United Champions League match. Moreno injured Shaw, which will be out for many months, with a heavy tackle inside the penalty box, though it was deemed to not have been a foul by the ref.
According to ESPN Deportes, Hector Moreno will visit Luke Shaw at his hospital in Eindhoven this Thursday. Marcel Brands, the Sports Director at PSV, when asked by an ESPN Deportes reporter whether Moreno had visited Shaw at the hospital, stated: “He has not yet done so, but he will likely visit him tomorrow [Thursday]”.
Brands went on to mention that Moreno had a great match for PSV, and that the hard tackle on Shaw was a clean play, which led to the unfortunate injury. Brands also mentioned how Moreno also suffered a similar injury about a year ago, which also sidelined the Mexican player for many months.
Moreno was likely as shocked as the rest of us at Shaw’s awful injury, and as a player who has lived through the same circumstances, we can only hope that Moreno will be able to offer Shaw some words of encouragement during his visit.
