Strongest Manchester United Lineup vs Club Brugge: Schweinsteiger to start?

Schweinsteiger

Manchester United have got off to a decent start in the Premier League with two victories on the trot and the Red Devils now prepare for an important Champions League playoff clash against Belgian side Club Brugge on Tuesday night.

The Red Devils have not particularly been too impressive in their performances but they seem to be grinding out the right result and Louis van Gaal will surely be happy if his side can claim another positive result against Club Brugge.

Heading into the game, United do not have too many injury problems to contend with and it is unlikely that van Gaal will look to make a raft of changes to his side for midweek.

Here is the Strongest Possible Lineup for Manchester United against Club Brugge –

Goalkeeper

David De Gea looks unlikely to be playing for United again but in his absence, new signing Sergio Romero has done a decent job in goal and the Argentine international is likely to start for the Red Devils once again on Tuesday night.

Club Brugge have a couple of dangerous attacking players in their side such as Obbi Oularé and Claudemir, and Romero will need to be on his guard against the Belgians.

Defence

The United backline has been very impressive over the last few games and van Gaal will surely not look to tinker for the clash on Tuesday.

Luke Shaw, Daley Blind, Chris Smalling and Matteo Darmian are currently the undoubted first choice for United and the quartet should retain their place in the starting lineup.

Marcos Rojo and Jonny Evans are also available for United and there is a possibility that the duo will feature in midweek if van Gaal decides to give them playing time.

Midfield

Michael Carrick and Morgan Schneiderlin has been the midfield combination for United but one suspects van Gaal could hand Bastian Schweinsteiger his first ever competitive start on Tuesday. Carrick could be the one to make way if Schweinsteiger is handed a start.

In the wide positions the impressive duo of Memphis Depay and Juan Mata should play and Adnan Januzaj could be rewarded for his goal against Villa with another start against Club Brugge.

Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini will also be available for van Gaal and the Dutchman could consider using the duo as well.

Attack

Wayne Rooney will once again be leading the line for United but the striker will be looking to put in an improved performance after coming under fire for two ineffectual displays over the last two game weeks. Javier Hernandez will be waiting on the wings if Rooney does not improve on Tuesday as well.
