Arsenal’s stars ready to make amends

Aaron Ramsey and Petr Cech are both looking forward to Arsenal’s match against Crystal Palace on Sunday. Both players are looking to make amends for Arsenal’s poor start to the season after the Gunner’s 2-0 loss to West Ham.

Immediately following Sundays match, Cech tweeted:

In typical Arsenal fashion, the defensive line was unorganized for a set piece. Cech came out to claim the cross but was beaten to the ball by Cheikhou Kouyate who nodded the ball home in an empty net. If Cech hadn’t come out to claim the ball, Kouyate would still have had a free header and would likely have scored. This morning Ramsey tweeted a message in which his confidence in the team’s ability to perform this season was made quite clear.

Last time Arsenal lost the season opener was two years ago when they opened the 2013/2014 season with a 3-1 loss to Aston Villa. After that loss, the club went on a remarkable run and was top of the table for the majority of the season, only to falter at the end of year due to a rash of injuries to key players.

Arsenal has a history under Arsene Wenger of responding well to poor results. This season, Arsenal has the depth to deal with injuries and have an experienced squad who have won two FA Cups in a row, and understand what it takes to win.
