West Bromwich Albion is set to seal a season long loan deal for Arsenal youngster, Serge Gnabry.
Gnabry hasn’t played for Arsenal’s first team in over a year due to a serious knee injury he suffered in March 2014.
The young German has made 18 first team appearances for Arsenal, scoring his only goal for the club against Swansea in a 2-1 win in 2013. He joined the Gunners in 2011 from Stuttgart and is held in high regard by Arsenal’s coaching staff.
Prior to Gnabry’s injury, he had been playing in Arsenal’s first team on a regular basis. He started the 2013-2014 season strong and had a good run on the right wing while Theo Walcott played as striker in the absence of Olivier Giroud.
West Brom manager Tony Pulis has been following Gnabry for some time and will hope that the youngster can make a major contribution to the team this season, now that he is fully fit.
Gnabry participated in the Under-21 European Championships for Germany this season, limiting his participation in Arsenal’s pre-season matches.
Gnabry will be gaining valuable Premier League experience that could serve him well at Arsenal next season.
