Manchester United agree deal for €20million star

Manchester United have finally managed to agree on a deal to sign Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger, according to reports from the BILD

Following their commendable fourth place finish in the Premier League last season, Manchester United are now expected to step up during the upcoming campaign and make a sustained challenge for the Premier League title.

In order to do so though, it is clear that United will have to strengthen their squad this summer and a host of top quality players have been linked with a move to United during the past few weeks.

Sergio Ramos, Gonzalo Higuain and Hugo Lloris are just some of the names constantly touted to make a move to United but the player whom the Red Devils’ fans desperately want to see at the club during the upcoming season is Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Schweinsteiger set for United move

Schweinsteiger only has a year remaining on his current deal at Bayern and with the midfielder refusing to commit himself to a new contract; he has been linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena this summer.

United have been monitoring Schweinsteiger’s situation for a while now and manager Louis van Gaal is said to be keen on a reunion with the 30-year old at Old Trafford. Now following a protracted round of negotiations, it can be revealed that United have finally managed to agree on a fee with Bayern over Schweinsteiger.

According to the BILD, Bayern have accepted United’s €20million offer for Schweinsteiger and the midfielder is now free to hold talks with the Premier League giants. The midfielder will still have to agree on personal terms with United but the Red Devils are optimistic of getting the deal done.

Despite his advancing years, Schweinsteiger is a top quality player and he would most certainly prove to be a huge asset for United.
