Manchester United have offered a whopping £136,000-a-week contract to convince Bastian Schweinsteiger to join the club, according to reports
After a quiet last few weeks in the transfer market, things are set to pick up for Manchester United and Italian defender Matteo Darmian is all but set to join the Red Devils in the next 48 hours.
On the departure front, Robin van Persie has reportedly already sealed his move to Fenerbahce while even David De Gea is edging closer towards making a move to Real Madrid.
Now manager Louis Van Gaal is looking to ramp up his recruitment process and the Dutch manager has specifically seen strengthening the midfield area as a priority.
Van Gaal is currently hot on the heels of Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin and now according to reports, the United manager is also persisting with his pursuit for Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Schweinsteiger could be lured to United
Schweinsteiger has been linked with a move to United all summer and with the midfielder currently delaying talks of his contract extension at Bayern, there is increased speculation with every passing day that he will be joining the Premier League side.
Recently Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge fueled speculation that Schweinsteiger could be bound for United after revealing that the 30-year old is flattered by the interest from England.
Now according to reports from the Metro, it has been stated that United are stepping up their pursuit for Schweinsteiger and are looking to lure the German international to Old Trafford by offering a whopping £136,000-a-week contract.
It is believed that Schweinsteiger could be available for as little as £10million and his potential arrival will certainly be a huge boost for United.
