The Women’s FIFA 2015 World Cup match between USA vs Australia will take place this Monday, June 8, 2015 (4:30 PM Pacific) at Winnipeg Stadium. The United States Women’s National Team will have their tournament opener in what is expected to be a successful run towards another World Cup title. Meanwhile, they face a difficult team like that of Australia, in what will undoubtedly be one of the strongest matches of the group stages.

The USWNT and Australia form part of Group D which also includes Sweden and Nigeria. With Nigeria being the least favorite of the group, the other three teams are strong contenders to go far into the tournament, making this group the strongest and most competitive in the Canada World Cup.

The United States enters Monday’s game as the favorite to win, especially with the return of star striker and fan-favorite, Alex Morgan. The team coached by Jillian Ellis has a privileged attack which includes Morgan, Abby Wambach, Sidney Leroux, and Megan Rapinoe among others.
