Deal Completed! Liverpool make another shrewd signing

Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool have added more firepower to the club with the signing of English forward, Danny Ings.

The former Burnley man is a terrific signing for the club, he is a player who ensures that the team will be able to field a strong striker even if Daniel Sturridge is unable to get past his injury problems. At 22, he will still get better and he should hit his peak at the same time as Liverpool’s other young players in Philippe CoutinhoEmre Can and Jordan Henderson.

He should be able to help the team right from the start. He is a versatile forward who will be able to work within any system that Rodgers implements. He scored 11 goals and provided 4 assists on a struggling Burnley side that had almost no other player capable of creating and scoring. While he is able to score with both feet in a variety of angles, the one skill that makes him an outstanding player is his ability to get a goal using his head.

His ability to find space between defenders is outstanding and he should be open even more since he will be playing alongside Sturridge. Ings is used to playing beside another striker since Burnley primarily used a 4-4-2 throughout the season.

If Rodgers goes back to 4-3-1-2 that made the team so fearful on offense, Ings and Sturridge should be able to bag goals by the dozens with Coutinho and Henderson feeding them passes.

The forwards were the weakest area on Liverpool last season and Rodgers often had to play Raheem Sterling at the tip of the formation. Bringing Ings in should not only make the team’s depth better, he should be able to help the midfielders player more to their strengths and not worry about scoring goals.
