HUGE: Arsenal move for Spanish Legend as ALTERNATIVE to injury-strickened Koscielny

Arsenal and Arsene Wenger are looking to sure up their shaky defense with a huge signing of Real Madrid giant Sergio Ramos. Arguably the best centre back in the world, Sergio Ramos has been a driving force for Real Madrid for about a decade now, and would take a terrific effort to get him to North London.

With Laurent Koscielny consistently sidelined with nagging injuries and Per Mertesacker looking out of form, centre back is a real area of concern for an Arsenal team who have no immediate backups. The back line really needs some leadership more than anything, and Ramos would provide that in abundance.

The 28 year old has just come off winning the World Club Cup with Madrid, and was named the tournament’s best player. He is renowned as one of the best at his crafts, and he is no stranger to scoring goals either. He already has 10 goals this season, which puts him in fourth place among all Real Madrid players, an impressive stat for a centre back.

Arsenal have had collapses in many games this year, most recently at Liverpool, where they conceded an equalizer in stoppage time on a set piece. Game after game Arsene Wenger’s defense has shown they are the weak point in the team, and it is time for it to be addressed. The boss has done so this week in contacting Ramos’ brother, Rene, in an attempt to court the Spanish giant.

Sergio Ramos though would command a HUGE amount of money in order to get him in an Arsenal shirt, something that Wenger has been reluctant to shell out in the past. Ramos is without a doubt one of the biggest names in football, and would probably come with a near hundred million dollar tag. This is entirely way more money than Arsenal have to spend on a single position, and ultimately the reason why this deal will not happen.

Ramos seems content to stay at the Bernabeu, as he should be. They are one of, if not the, biggest clubs in football, and are very much in form. Arsene Wenger would have to work some serious magic for this deal to come true, so Gunner fans shouldn’t get their hopes up on this one.
