Manchester United Flop set to reunite with former boss in Spain

When Ashley Young arrived at Manchester United back in 2011 from Aston Villa for a sizeable fee of around £16million, his signing was seen as a bargain for the Red Devils.

Young was considered arguably the best winger in England at the time and was believed to be entering the peak of his powers at the age of 25.

While Young did show flashes of his brilliance during his first season at Old Trafford, it is safe to say the winger has been very disappointing as a United player overall and the £16milllion splashed by the Red Devils to secure his services is looking like a huge aberration.

Young has had a disappointing United career

Now already 29, Young does not seem to have too much scope for improvement and with persistent injury problems still troubling him – the winger will in all likelihood not be able to break into the current United squad under Louis van Gaal.

As a result, Young’s future at Old Trafford looks far from certain and it is widely believed that the Red Devils will be looking to offload the Englishman during the January transfer window.

Young set for January exit from Old Trafford

With Young’s reputation battered allied by his huge salary, not many Premier League clubs are said to be looking to take a chance on the winger and he will most certainly have to take a huge pay cut if he leaves United.

However as a big boost to Young, he will be handed an unlikely chance to revive his career in Spain – if reports emerging out of England are to be believed.

Moyes looking to reunite with Young at Real Sociedad

It has been claimed that former United manager David Moyes is looking to sign Young for Spanish side Real Sociedad. Young featured 30 times for United under Moyes and the Scotsman is said to be a keen admirer of the 29-year old.

Therefore, it is believed that Moyes is hopeful of landing Young on a cut price deal in January as he looks to make his own mark at the Anoeta Stadium.

It remains to be seen whether the transfer does come into fruition but it could potentially be a very good move for Young to kick start his stalling career.
