Former Wonderkid set for Unceremonious Exit from Manchester United

There is nothing more frustrating in football than to see a hugely talented young player failing to live up to his potential and Manchester United midfielder Anderson is certainly one of those players who have flattered only to deceive.

Hailed as one of the best young players in 2007, Anderson seemed to have the world at his feet and Manchester United were convinced enough with his abilities to part with a whopping £20 million to secure the services of the then teenager.

Anderson did make a good start to life at Old Trafford, but persistent injuries allied by a loss of form meant that the Brazilian midfielder never really managed to hit the heights that were expected from him early on in his career.

Anderson has never fulfilled his potential

Now 26, Anderson seems unlikely to ever make it at United and manager Louis van Gaal is said to be more than happy to allow the midfielder to leave this summer.

While United can forget about recouping the £20million they splashed on Anderson seven years ago, there are a couple of clubs who are still interested in taking a chance on him and it can now be revealed that Portuguese giants Porto are looking to facilitate a return of the Brazilian midfielder back to the Estádio do Dragão.

Porto looking to sign Anderson

According to reports, Porto have inquired about the availability of the 26-year old and are hoping to strike a deal with United in the coming days.

With Anderson surplus to requirements at Old Traffod, van Gaal would probably be happy to get the midfielder off of the club’s wage bill and there is a strong possibility that the transfer could take place.

If the move does go through, it will be a sad ending to what looked like a promising career for Anderson at United, but the proposed transfer certainly makes sense for all the three parties involved.
