The Mexico vs Bosnia-Herzegovina international friendly will take place this Tuesday, June 3, 2014 (6:30 PM Pacific) at Soldier Field. The match in Chicago will be the third of four pre-World Cup friendlies for ‘El Tri’, where after two games they have defeated their two rivals. As for Bosnia, the European team is coming off a nice 2-1 win against Ivory Coast, and this match will put them closer to their top form.

The team coached by Miguel Herrera is advancing rapidly towards their best form and face prior to the start of the FIFA Brazil 2014 World Cup. In eight games leading the ‘Tri’, Piojo Herrera is undefeated, most recently defeating Israel 3-0, and Ecuador 3-0. Almost everything has gone smoothly in the Mexican camp in terms of training, in exception of the injuries to Juan Carlos Medina, and Luis Montes who will miss the World Cup.

Mexico has improved in all aspects of the field, as they are solid on defense, the forwards combine well with the midfield, and the midfield has had the speed and playmaking ability to control every match. However, this team still has some things to work on, therefore the game against Bosnia will allow them to detect the areas in which they are their weakest.

Bosnia will enter Wednesday’s friendly with a lot of pressure to meet their best playing form, but also because of several unwanted off-field issues. The team coached by Safet Susic has demonstrated good soccer as just last week they defeated the Ivory Coast in a strong game. However, Bosnia has had many problems involving players, and most notably their own soccer federation.

Players like Boris Pandza and Ervin Zukanovic were involved in separate off-field sagas, where Pandza threatened to leave the Bosnian camp, while Zukanovic will not travel to Brazil due to visa issues. Bosnia will have to leave all their issues behind not only against Mexico, but also in their World Cup campaign, as they face three difficult Group F matches against Argentina, Iran, and Nigeria.

Mexico vs Bosnia-Herzegovina Prediction

This match will be a good contrast between offensive against defensive tactics. Mexico has demonstrated under Piojo Herrera that they like to play dynamically on the midfield, which allows them to score many goals; evident with six goals in their last two games. Meanwhile, Bosnia has a strong, tall defense which is their biggest strenght; that will allow them to repel Mexico’s quick attack.

Wednesday’s game will be a fun one to watch as both sides are nearing their top form, and pressure is mounting as they want to show their best side with the World Cup only nine days away. In a close match, the Mexico vs Bosnia-Herzegovina match will end in a 2-1 win for the ‘tricolor’.
