VIDEO- Giroud Dedicates Arsenal Goal To Victims of Hillsborough Tragedy

Tonight, Arsenal ended a series of bad results in the Premier League. Victory over West Ham was the first for the North London club in over a month (last time they triumphed in the Premiership, was in an away match against Tottenham) and they are temporarily in the 4th position. When we look at the final score, it looks like there was no doubt who would win the game, but events on the pitch were quite opposite. After Giroud missed colossal chance in the first half, Jarvis punished that and gave West Ham the lead. Before the break, Cazorla found Podolski, who equalized before the break and returned Arsenal in game.

The second half started like many expected – Arsenal attacked, while the Hammers focused on defending the goal. And in the 55th minute, Giroud put the Gunners in lead and made a gesture that left both fans on the stadium and viewers at homes speechless – he dedicated the goal to the victims of Hillsborough tragedy.

After that, all was clear – all points would remain at the Emirates Stadium and before the final whistle, Podolski scored his second to complete his brace and secure “player of the match” award for him:

No doubt, this is a very important victory for Gunners. They need all the positive energy they can acquire until the end of the season, because their schedule is easier than one that Everton has in the following gameweeks. Bearing all that in mind, securing the fourth spot and winning the FA Cup trophy are the goals that Arsenal players can and must achieve in order to avoid labeling this season as “another disappointment”.
