Manchester United Players Visit Munich Memorial Site Prior to Bayern Munich Match

Ahead of the second round of the Champions League quarterfinals, Manchester United players arrived in Munich one day before the match. With a solid 1:1 from the first game and the Bavarian team experiencing a little drop of form, they still have a decent chance to be among top 4 teams of Europe. How much this match is important for them, justifies the fact that Moyes played with (mostly) reserve squad against Newcastle over the weekend, while Rooney decided to take painkilling injection ahead of match in order to help his teammates.

Also, during the day, a couple of Englishmen among the players visited the memorial of the airplane crash tragedy that was an end of one generation of Manchester United players, known as Busby Babes. Young, Carrick and Ferdinand were the players that visited Munich memorial, but they were very happy when they saw club’s supporters from England also coming to pay their respect.

Ahead of the big game they will play tomorrow, this will certainly be an inspiring moment for all the players. Sadly, this is one of the biggest tragedies that faced any football club in the past 60 years, which took away 23 lives and stopped one generation of players that would certainly be dominant in both English and European competitions.
