Chelsea Will Use Lukaku As Bait To Bring In 20yr Old Star

According to The Mirror, Jose Mourinho will use Romelu Lukaku as a bait for Everton, in a plan to land Ross Barkley!

Ross Barkley is a highly rated Everton midfielder, who’s been performing amazingly well this season.

This 20-year-old English star played 28 games in the Premier league for Everton and scored 5 times.

His style of play is somewhat similar to Frank Lampard’s, and Mourinho sees him as an ideal replacement for the aging midfielder.

Chelsea has two highly rated footballers out on loans, one of them is Thibaut Courtois, Atletico’s goalkeeper, and the other is, of course, Romelu Lukaku, who is on loan at Everton.

Both players and their teams perform really well, and it is possible that this summer both of Mourinho’s players will be used to convince Atletico and Everton to sell some players to Chelsea, in exchange for Courtois and Lukaku staying where they are.

It remains to be seen if this cunning plan will succeed.

Ross Barkley should fit in nicely in the Chelsea squad, in Lampard’s playing spot. But, considering Chelsea has several players that compete for only 2 spots in central midfield, the young Englishman could struggle to break into the first eleven.

But, Barkley worked his way into Everton’s starting lineup in a similar way, and he clearly doesn’t fear the competition, which could even help him to evolve into a better player.

This possible deal is very interesting, but it doesn’t seem very likely to happen, at least at this moment.

Lukaku is a rock solid “bait” considering his displays for Everton, but Ross Barkley is a very young player, which could be the all time Everton’s great, if they can hold onto him.

Additionally, Martinez has so far shown bigger clubs that only a serious amount of money could make him  sell some of his players, and Mourinho will probably need, in order to land Barkley, to add to his offer, because this simple exchange probably wouldn’t do the trick.

Considering all this, we give this transfer 20% probability to happen, but when summer transfer window starts the tables might turn to Chelsea’s favor.
