According to The Daily Express, Liverpool are preparing a bid for PSV youngster Zakaria Bakkali. Big clubs like Real Madrid and Arsenal are also interested in the Belgian winger.

Bakkali is 18 years of age and plays in the Eredivisie with PSV. PSV have attempted to get Bakkali to sign a new contract but talks seem to be at a stalemate.

Bakkali is another young potential star from the country of Belgium. PSV want to keep him and develop him more as a player, but he has only started seven matches in the Dutch league.

Looking at what Bakkali brings to a team, he would greatly help Liverpool in the long-run. Bakkali brings a lot of pace and is a skillful dribbler, and could play as a winger behind the likes of Suarez and Sturridge.

Liverpool have been outstanding going forward in attack this season, but at times Coutinho has not looked great and Sterling has had some good games but still lacks some sort of consistency. Bringing in a young talent like Bakkali would be great for Liverpool because Brendan Rodgers is one of the best at developing youngsters.

This move would help Liverpool for now as a squad player but would also help them in the future as he is only 18; this potential move gets a ‘7’ in helping the team. Liverpool have been great in attack, but the questions all year have been defensively.

Looking at Bakkali, he is a talented youngster who is already being watched by top clubs. Arsene Wenger is another manager who likes to buy young players, so Arsenal are in the race as well. I can see Bakkali leaving this summer for a club like Liverpool but I could also see if he stays another year before making the switch.

Right now, I say the percentage of this happening is about ’20’ because he is young and an attack minded player. Liverpool do not have the funds that Chelsea and Manchester City have so they will have to be smart in their investments and buy defenders first to address their needs.
