The team coached by Cesar Farias has prepared responsibly for the second leg match against Galaxy this Tuesday. Xolos lined a semi-youth squad for their Saturday’s loss to Cruz Azul in order to rest his starting players. The game against Los Angeles will be difficult considering they need to win by two goals in order to access into the semifinals.

Meanwhile, the team coached by Bruce Arena will be completely rested for this game after they did not see MLS action during the weekend. Galaxy will have a extremely difficult game in their attempt to defeat Xolos at the Estadio Caliente. Tijuana has not won an away Liga MX match in over a calendar year, while their last away win was last August in Honduras against Victoria. However, playing at home has been their greatest strength as they have only lost one game since last April.

Xolos Tijuana vs LA Galaxy Prediction

The Xolos Tijuana vs LA Galaxy second leg quarterfinal match will intense right from the get-go. Club Tijuana’s greatest strength is playing in their stadium, on their turf field, and with the support of their loyal fans. Xolos has only lost one home match since last April, and losing in such a significant game against Galaxy seems like a distant possibility. For that reason, Tijuana will play offensively, and will control the match which will ultimately give them the win.

The biggest question, however, is if LA Galaxy can score at least a goal. If the MLS side scores a goal, then they force Xolos to score at least three, as consequence from the ‘away goal’ rule. Therefore, Galaxy will play on the counter-attack, with their focus put on scoring off of set-pieces.

In what will be a great match, Xolos will dominate, but they will have difficulty scoring as their offense is not in the best shape, and LA has a great defense. The first 90′ minutes will end in a 1-0 win for the home side, which will take the game into over-time. The final score will be decided in the thirty-minute overtime in favor of Xolos. The Xolos vs Galaxy game will end 2-0 (2-1 agg.) in favor of the Liga MX team.
