The Xolos Tijuana vs Chivas Guadalajara Liga MX match will be played this Friday, March 7, 2014 (7:30 PM Pacific) at the Estadio Caliente. Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente will try to return to their winning ways at home when they host Chivas in what is expected to be a great match in a good sold-out atmosphere in the border city. Meanwhile, the Rebaño Sagrado has the chance of improving on their good season, although a win in Tijuana will be incredibly difficult.

The team coached by Cesar Farias has not had a successful season by any means. After nine matches, Xolos is in 10th place with only 11 points, while also having the second worst defense in the league. Club Tijuana has been lucky to remain in the playoff picture considering how close most of the teams are in the standings. With a win this Friday, Xolos would reach 14 points and has the chance of ending the weekend in 6th place.

Xolos Plagued With Absences

Xolos will face various roster setbacks for this important match. Last week, the team’s best player and leading goal scorer with 5, Cristian Pellerano, was expelled in the 1-1 tie against Veracruz. The Argentine midfielder will miss the game, and his position could be covered with the American Joe Corona. Also, Edgar Castillo (USA) and Fidel Martinez (Ecuador) returned from trips to Europe as they played with their national teams in the past FIFA Match Day. It is most likely that they will not see much, or even any play time. American Paul Arriola had a chance of starting this Friday with Fidel’s absence, but the player suffered an injury during training this week and will miss the game. Lastly, it is expected that Fernando Arce will play after suffering a shoulder injury last weekend.

Chivas Ready To Reach Top Form

The team coached by Jose Luis Real has had a good season comparing them to last season; entering Week 10, they are in 7th place with 13 points. Chivas has not won in their last 2 games therefore they will have a good chance to turn this around when they face Xolos who is not going through a good moment. With a win, Chivas has the chance of ending the weekend in 3rd place.

Xolos Tijuana vs Chivas Guadalajara Prediction

The Xolos vs Chivas match will be played in a sold-out Estadio Caliente and in a wonderful atmosphere. Whenever these two teams face each other in Tijuana, thousands of Chivas faithfuls travel from the USA which creates a rival but responsible scenario on the stands.

This Friday, Chivas will not be able to count with Omar Bravo who is out with an injury, while Xolos must attempt to win without 3 of their regular starters. The game will be a good one with much offense, but Chivas will not be able to take the away win. The Xolos vs Chivas match will end in a 2-2 tie.
