The Leon vs Veracruz Liga MX match will be held this Friday, March 7, 2014 (6:00 PM Pacific) at the Estadio Nou Camp. The Panzas Verdes will have a good opportunity of winning their 4th straight match when they host last placed Veracruz. The Tiburones Rojos are dangerously close to the relegation zone, therefore a win against Leon will be significant to their survival.

The team coached by Gustavo Matosas is currently in 5th place with 14 points, where a win this Friday could take them all the way into 3rd place. Leon’s good position in the standings is in part due to their last three games, all of them wins.  In those matches, the ‘fiera’ has returned to their good offensive ways, by scoring a total of 9 goals.

The team coached by Jose Luis Sanchez Sola tied last week in the last minutes against Xolos of Tijuana. Although they did not win, that tie will help them to improve their morale in their fierce battle against relegation. The visit to Leon will be very difficult, where a loss could position them in last place of the relegation table.

Leon vs Veracruz Prediction

The Panzas Verdes have deonstrated in their past two games that they are near the point of form which saw them win the past Apertura 2013. While they will have several ‘tired’ national team players, Leon is still the superior team and has enough talent to talent to defeat Veracruz. Meanwhile, the visitors are extremely pressured to not lose, although that will be difficult on the road and against one of the better sides during the Clausura 2014. The Leon vs Veracruz match will end in a 2-0 win for the home team.
