The Barclays Premier League offers us an early morning mouthwatering clash, Mourinho puts his unbeaten league home record up against Martinez’s men as the toffees look to steal points, and move closer to European qualification.

  1. Mourinho’s Home Premier League Record
Unbeaten at home in 73 premier league matches with Chelsea, this record was hanging by a thread late against West Brom and only saved by a very generous penalty call, Mourinho will look for a strong performance from his men tomorrow.

  2. Players missing in action
The Blues will be without David Luiz as he recovers from a muscle strain, although Mourinho confirmed the skipper Terry will be available for action. What’s left to see is who starts up top for Chelsea, Eto’o has had a run in the side, but Torres is back to full fitness and could grab a start. Everton are already without Oviedo, Kone and Gibson and Lukaku will join them as he is ineligible to face his parent club.

  3. Tactical Set-up
In FA cup action against City, Mourinho set up his side with a 3 man holding midfield in order to contain the City attack. Tomorrow we should see a much more attacking lineup, one able to run at Everton’s back four. The Toffee’s, on the other hand, will have the giant Traore leading the line, with Mirallas in either the hole or out wide. Traore is guaranteed to trouble the center back pairing the Blues send out.

  4. Will Frank Lampard make an appearance?
The Chelsea legend hasn’t seen much of any playing time recently, one would think a game such as this against a known opponent would be perfect for Lampard to dictate. Matic would relieve much of the defense responsibility normally expected of Lamps, this would allow him to roam forward at will.

  5. Can Everton compete?
Martinez’s men currently sit 8 points behind the last Champions League qualification spot, this test would allow them to match up against the big boys. If they withstand the challenge, what a crucial momentum swing this would give them entering the final third of the season.
