Rooney Will Not Start – Possible Manchester United Lineup vs Crystal Palace

After a trip to Dubai for some warm weather training and a photo opportunity with Maradona, it’s back to the real world for Manchester United, as they visit a resurgent Crystal Palace this weekend.

With Olympiakos coming up in midweek, there are going to be a few changes to a side that has actually still never been unchanged, but United fans will be hoping to see enough on display to help them secure their first win in three games.

It is thought that at least one of the trio of Van Persie, Mata and Rooney will sit this one out in anticipation of the Champions League. Rooney will most likely miss out on this occasion, as Moyes still struggles to understand how the three of them can actually fit into the same team.

Felaini is fit again, and having cost Moyes £28 million plus a lot of credibility, he’s never likely to be left on the sidelines.

After a nice week in the sun, most of United’s squad are now fully fit and even Jones and Evans are both feeling OK, along with Rafael who suffered a concussion in the stalemate at the Emirates last week. Ferdinand and Vidic certainly looked assured in the second half of that game, despite rarely being threatened, and they could be reunited for this game.

It’s another must win for Moyes as he attempts to carry some kind of momentum into midweek, but Palace are dangerous and United will want to pay special attention to Tom Ince, who is certain to play a pivotal role if Palace are to beat the drop this year.
