Arsenal’s title hopes were derailed after a goalless draw with Manchester United, in a sold out match at the Emirates on Wednesday night. The Gunners- who had a higher share of possession and the best chances of the two sides- were unable to convert their chances.

The draw proved costly to the North London side, as a win could have steered them back to the top of the Premier League table. As such, the result leaves the Gunners in second, a point below league leaders Chelsea.

With 12 games to go before season’s end, Arsene Wenger admitted that his side is suffering from title nerves, more-so after the 5-1 mauling by the hands of Liverpool in the weekend.

In a press conference after the match the Frenchman said: “When you concede five goals like we did against Liverpool on Saturday, maybe that’s what you do. The team was highly focused on not conceding after Saturday.”

“We missed out on the chance to go top but a point keeps us in the race,” said the Gaffer. “We played with the handbrake on tonight. I hope and think the handbrake will come off.”

Olivier Giroud had the chance to win the game for Arsenal but a misfiring by the Frenchman put the glorious chance to waste.

Arsenal will be once again play Liverpool this weekend in the fifth round of the FA Cup after last weekend’s clash between the two teams in a premier league fixture.
